Homemade Hot Sauce

Homemade Hot Sauce is a spicy Mexican style sauce. This easy to prepare sauce is made with tomatoes, onions, garlic and red dry chillis.  This sauce can be used for burritos, tacos, enchiladas and even as dips.

Homemade Hot Sauce

Prep time: 5 minutes
Total time: 20 minutes

Ingredients For Homemade Hot Sauce

4 tomatoes cubed
1 large onion sliced
6 to 8 pods garlic
8 to 10 dry red chillis
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon vinegar
½ teaspoon jeera (cumin) optional
2 tablespoon oil
Salt to taste

Directions For Homemade Hot Sauce

  • Heat oil in a pan; add garlic, chillis and saute for a minute.
  • Add the onions and saute for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Now add the tomatoes, salt, sugar and cook till the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  • Switch off the heat; add vinegar, cumin and let the mixture cool down.
  • Transfer to a blender and blend to a fine paste.
  • Strain this paste and store in a glass bottle.
  • Refrigerate and use as desired.
