Masala Idli, Fried Idly

Masala Idli or Fried Idly

Masala Idli or Fried Idly is a simple yet yummy dish made generally with left over Idlis. Fresh Idly is very soft and fragile and tends to crumble very easily. For making masala idli, we need to either deep fry or pan fry the idly for which a little firm idly is preferred.

Deep frying makes this dish a bit oily so I have just sautéed the idli with the masala. I have used sambar masala but you can use gun powder, or use other dry masalas like chilli powder, dhania powder and Chat masala. This dish tastes the best when made with ghee.
