Besan Ke Laddu

Besan Ke Laddu (Gram Flour Sweet) is usually made during festivals. These laddus are quite easy to make. Besan Ke Laddoo is made with few ingredients easily available in every Indian kitchen.

These delicious and aromatic laddus have a nutty flavor. They need just four ingredients- ghee, besan (gram flour), sugar and cardamom. Almond, coconut or any other dry fruits are optional.

Ingredients For Besan Ke Laddu

1 cup besan (gram flour)
¼ cup ghee (clarified butter)
½ cup bura /powder sugar
2 tablespoon chopped badam (almonds)
2 tablespoon grated khopra (dry coconut)
½ teaspoon elaichi powder (cardamom)

Directions For Besan Ke Laddu

  • Heat ghee in broad Kadai or a wok; add besan and stir to mix well.
  • Keep the heat to medium for 5 minutes while stirring.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let is roast well, stir occasionally till it is golden brown till  the aroma of the ghee and aata fills the kitchen. This is the right time to proceed with the other ingredients.
  • Now add the almonds, khopra and saute on medium heat till the almonds turns pink.
  • Switch off the heat, remove the wok from the hot burner and let the temperature come down till it is warm.
  • Now is the time to add cardamom and bura, mix well.
  • Make the laddu (balls) of desired size and arrange in a plate or a tray.
  • Let the laddus come to room temperature and then transfer in an air tight container.
