Chinese Cauliflower Fritters

Chinese Cauliflower fritters are easy and quick to make. These fritters are flavoured with Schezwan sauce and fried. This finger food is delicious and best enjoyed with hot chilli sauce. Similarly you can make baby corn fritters also.

This Indo-Chinese recipe is also known as Gobhi Szechuan and is served as an appetizer. Serve this tasty vegetarian dish with fried rice or noodles. This easy recipe uses store-bought Szechuan Sauce. The recipe has both dry and gravy variants, but the dry one is widely preferred due to its versatility as a snack that can be served as a starter or as an accompaniment for dinner.

Ingredients For Chinese Cauliflower fritters

250 grams cauliflower florets
1 tablespoon schezwan sauce
1 teaspoon soya sauce
Salt to taste

Batter
¼ cup maida (plain flour)
2 tablespoon corn starch
½ teaspoon pepper powder
¼ teaspoon soda bi carb
1 teaspoon garlic paste (optional)
Salt to taste

Directions For Chinese Cauliflower fritters

  • Blanch the cauliflower till half-cooked. Strain and set aside to cool.
  • Transfer the cauliflower into a bowl; add schezwan sauce, soya, salt and toss. Set aside to marinate for 20 minutes.
  • In a bowl transfer all the ingredients for batter and make a thick batter by adding water little by little.
  • Heat oil on medium heat.
  • Now dip the florets in batter and fry till golden and crisp.
  • Serve garnished with spring onion greens along with hot chilli sauce.
